SEMCAP Backs Healf as Wellness Platform Expands Abroad

SEMCAP Beauty & Wellness

PHILADELPHIA, PA — SEMCAP Beauty & Wellness has led a minority investment in Healf, backing the British wellbeing platform after it surpassed £100 million in annualized revenue as the company expands beyond its home market and develops its personalization technology.

The size and financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. The financing also included Pentland Ventures, Ami Capital, IRIS, Active Partners, Sequel and Dara5, along with individual investors including Claudia Schiffer and Natalia Vodianova Arnault.

More than 40 professional athletes participated, including Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah, according to SEMCAP.

Founded in 2020, Healf operates a consumer platform combining wellness products with blood biomarker testing, wearable technology, practitioner guidance and customer data. The company organizes its offering around nutrition, physical activity, mental wellbeing and sleep.

Healf has grown to more than £100 million in annualized revenue with fewer than 100 employees, according to SEMCAP. The company was also ranked as Europe’s fastest-growing company in the Financial Times’ FT1000 ranking.

The investment will fund further development of Healf’s personalization platform and international expansion. Healf recently entered Germany, its first market outside the UK.

“Wellness has a decision problem, not a product problem,” Healf co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Lestat McCree said. “There’s more noise, more opinions and more options than any one person can ever hope to make sense of.”

The transaction gives SEMCAP exposure to a consumer-wellness business seeking to differentiate itself through personalized recommendations and health data rather than product selection alone.

“The team has built a trusted consumer platform with a clear vision for where personalized wellbeing is heading,” Vasiliki Petrou, managing partner of SEMCAP Beauty & Wellness, said.

SEMCAP is positioning the investment around increasing consumer demand for more individualized health and wellness guidance as technology, diagnostics and traditional consumer products converge. Healf plans to use the new capital to continue that strategy while extending its geographic reach.
