OAKS, PA — SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC) has appointed former LPL Financial executive Kristie Edling-Day as chief information officer, putting her in charge of modernizing the Oaks-based financial services company’s technology platforms, expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities and strengthening cybersecurity governance.
Edling-Day will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Ryan Hicke and oversee SEI’s enterprise technology and product organization. Her responsibilities include executing a multiyear technology roadmap, managing digital transformation initiatives and aligning technology investments with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
The appointment places a technology executive with experience at two major financial services companies in charge of systems central to SEI’s operations and long-term growth strategy.
Edling-Day brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services technology, product development and enterprise transformation.
She most recently served as executive vice president and CIO for Advisor Technology and Enterprise Production Operations at LPL Financial, where she oversaw technology supporting approximately 32,000 financial advisors.
Her responsibilities included managing enterprise production systems, improving operational reliability and reducing technology-related risks.
At LPL, she also helped develop and implement the company’s enterprise artificial intelligence strategy and participated in establishing technology priorities presented to its board of directors.
Before joining LPL, Edling-Day spent 17 years at Vanguard, holding senior positions that included CIO of Intermediary Technology and chief product and information officer for Financial Advisor Services.
She led large-scale technology modernization projects and globally distributed teams supporting investment businesses and financial advisor platforms serving multitrillion-dollar operations.
At SEI, Edling-Day will be responsible for coordinating technology and product development across the organization while strengthening data governance and operational resilience.
The company has identified artificial intelligence, infrastructure modernization and cybersecurity oversight as priorities for its technology investments.
“The future of financial services will be shaped by firms that can connect technology, innovation, and expertise to help clients navigate an increasingly complex environment,” Hicke said.
He said Edling-Day’s responsibilities would include “accelerating responsible AI and data innovation across the enterprise.”
The appointment comes as SEI seeks to integrate technology development more closely with its business strategy, including investments intended to improve client services and support expansion.
Edling-Day said regulatory expectations and changing client requirements would guide the company’s modernization efforts.
“I see a meaningful opportunity to strengthen SEI’s technology platforms, product capabilities, and data governance to enable the firm to operate with speed and resilience while delivering greater value to clients,” she said.
Her appointment establishes executive oversight of SEI’s technology infrastructure, product strategy and cybersecurity governance under a single leadership position, with responsibility for translating the company’s multiyear technology plans into operational improvements.
