SEI Expands ETF Infrastructure Through ICE Integration

SEI Investments Company

OAKS, PA — SEI Investments Company (NASDAQ: SEIC) has entered into an agreement with Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (NYSE: ICE) to integrate its exchange-traded product servicing operations with ICE ETF Hub, expanding the Oaks-based company’s capacity to process fund transactions as the exchange-traded fund market grows.

The agreement will give SEI access to ICE’s automated infrastructure for creating and redeeming exchange-traded products, or ETPs, reducing the operational complexity associated with processing transactions between fund issuers and market participants.

The integration is intended to strengthen SEI’s order management capabilities through standardized connectivity, automated workflows and coordination among participants in the ETP market.

Creation and redemption transactions are central to ETF operations, allowing authorized participants to exchange baskets of securities or other assets for fund shares and vice versa. The process helps align ETF share prices with the value of their underlying holdings.

ICE ETF Hub supports those transactions across multiple asset classes, providing infrastructure that connects issuers, authorized participants and market makers.

The platform currently serves more than 250 issuers and more than 55 authorized participants, along with market makers, and supports more than 1,800 exchange-traded products.

ICE reported that the platform had processed more than $5 trillion in cumulative notional volume as of the second quarter of 2026.

For SEI, the agreement provides access to an established transaction-processing network as it seeks to expand its ETP servicing business without relying exclusively on internally developed infrastructure.

Sean Lawlor, head of public markets for SEI’s Investment Managers business, said the integration would help the company accommodate increasing assets and transaction volumes.

“Our integration with ICE ETF Hub strengthens the operational foundation of our ETP solutions and supports our long-term ETP strategy, giving us the scalability to respond to expanding ETP assets, increased trading volumes, evolving industry standards, and future market innovation,” Lawlor said.

The arrangement also allows SEI to direct investment toward other components of its investment management servicing business while using ICE’s infrastructure for primary-market transaction workflows.

Peter Borstelmann, president of ICE Bonds at Intercontinental Exchange, said the platform is designed to reduce the operational burden associated with ETP transactions.

“By bringing greater automation, standardization, and connectivity to ETP primary market workflows, ICE ETF Hub helps firms reduce operational complexity, manage liquidity, and improve efficiencies across the ETP ecosystem,” Borstelmann said.

The integration extends SEI’s use of external financial market infrastructure to support its investment manager clients, particularly fund issuers seeking to accommodate higher trading activity and increasingly complex product structures.

The agreement also expands ICE ETF Hub’s role in the ETP servicing market by adding SEI to its network of financial institutions using standardized creation and redemption processes.
