KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The fintech software company Sagent has announced the recent appointment of Eugene “Geno” Paluso as its new Chief Executive Officer, which became effective February 12. Paluso will succeed Dan Sogorka, who will continue to serve as an advisor before transitioning to a new opportunity.
Backed by Warburg Pincus, Sagent aims to operationalize the mortgage servicing industry’s first and only cloud-native software platform in 2024. The platform is part of Sagent’s multi-year strategic plan to transform mortgage servicing. The company has already moved its platforms to the cloud and has begun building a new platform with a unified data and user experience across the entire core, consumer, and default servicing lifecycle.
As CEO, Paluso will lead Sagent’s next phase, which involves completing, launching, and operationalizing this platform for customers in 2024 and beyond.
“Geno brings a track record of strong operational discipline to Sagent as it enters its next phase in delivering the future of mortgage servicing,” said Frank Bisignano, Chairman, President, and CEO of Fiserv, a global financial services technology provider that owns a stake in Sagent.
Paluso, a retired U.S. Navy Captain, Navy SEAL, and commander of multiple SEAL Teams, brings a wealth of leadership experience to his new role. Prior to joining Sagent, Paluso served as VP of Business Development for BAE Systems, a $45 billion multinational aerospace and technology company.
In his new role, Paluso expressed his excitement about leading the team at Sagent, stating, “Launching our new Sagent platform with America’s top servicers is a true career honor, as is applying our team’s operational focus and expertise to the noble cause of growing American homeownership.”
Industry watchers will be keen to see how Sagent’s new leadership will continue to drive innovation in the mortgage servicing industry. The company plans to unveil details of its new software platform at the Mortgage Bankers Association Servicing Solutions Conference & Expo in Orlando.
