UPPER CHICHESTER TWP, PA — Drivers using Route 452 (Market Street) in Upper Chichester Township should prepare for a month of overnight disruptions as utility construction brings alternating lane closures to a key stretch of the roadway.

Alternating lane closures will affect both directions of Route 452 between Bethel Avenue and Meetinghouse Road throughout the monthlong construction period.

PennDOT warned that significant backups and delays may occur through the work zone. Drivers should plan extra time or seek alternate routes when possible, particularly during the earlier evening hours.

All scheduled work is weather dependent.

The utility construction is part of PennDOT’s $99.4 million U.S. 322 Section 103 project, which is reconstructing, widening and making safety improvements along 1.4 miles of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Upper Chichester Township.
