The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) warns that significant backups and delays may occur during the overnight restrictions. All scheduled work is weather dependent.

The lane closures are part of a $5.2 million project designed to reduce congestion and improve traffic movement through the Route 3 and I-476 interchange.

Under the project, the westbound Route 3 ramp leading to northbound I-476 will be separated from the traffic signal at South Lawrence Road, allowing vehicles to enter the ramp without stopping for that signal.

Crews will also restripe the northbound I-476 entrance ramp to accommodate the revised traffic pattern.

South Lawrence Road will retain its existing lane configuration, including two left-turn lanes and one right-turn-only lane.

Drivers should plan extra travel time, watch for changing traffic conditions, and consider alternate routes when possible during overnight construction.
