Route 283 Bridge Checks Could Slow Drivers for Two Days

EAST HEMPFIELD TWP, PA — Drivers on Route 283 in East Hempfield Township should prepare for daytime lane restrictions later this month as PennDOT inspects the Landisville Road (Route 3017) bridge over the highway.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, the westbound Route 283 right lane and shoulder will be closed between mile markers 23.9 and 23.5.

Drivers should plan extra time and expect delays through the inspection area during the six-hour daytime restrictions.

The work is weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions prevent inspectors from safely completing the operation.
