Route 252 Closure Could Snarl Commutes Through Year’s End

NETHER PROVIDENCE TWP, PA — Motorists traveling through Delaware County should prepare for months of weekday travel disruptions as Aqua Pennsylvania begins utility construction on Route 252 (Providence Road). The project will require daily road closures between Route 320 and West Rose Valley Road from late July through the end of December.

Drivers will be directed to follow a detour using Route 320 (Providence Avenue), 22nd Street, Route 352 (Edgemont Avenue), and Brookhaven Road. Local access will be maintained throughout the construction period.

Motorists should plan extra travel time, expect delays during weekday work hours, and consider alternate routes whenever possible. All construction activities are weather dependent and schedules may change.
