LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers on Route 222 should expect overnight delays Thursday as PennDOT crews conduct line painting along a stretch of highway between Mohler Church Road and Col. Howard Boulevard.

At a Glance:

  • Roads Affected: Route 222 (Both Directions)
  • Dates: Thursday, March 26 into Friday, March 27
  • Times: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Reason: Line painting and pavement maintenance

PennDOT said a mobile operation will be in place, with alternating lane closures in both directions of Route 222 during overnight hours. Work zones will shift along the corridor as crews progress.

No detour is planned, but drivers should expect slow-moving traffic and possible backups. Plan extra time for overnight travel and remain alert for construction vehicles and changing traffic patterns.

The work is part of a larger pavement preservation project that includes resurfacing, repairs, and roadway upgrades along the Route 222 corridor.

Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speeds through the active work zone.
