EAST COCALICO TWP, PA — Motorists traveling on Route 222 in Lancaster County should prepare for daytime lane restrictions and possible delays this week as PennDOT crews conduct inspections of the Peiffer Hill Road bridges spanning the highway.

According to PennDOT, lane restrictions will be in place on both the northbound and southbound sides of Route 222 as inspectors evaluate the Peiffer Hill Road bridge structures over the highway.
On Wednesday, June 17, the northbound right lane will be restricted from 9:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a northbound left lane restriction from noon to 3:00 p.m.
On Thursday, June 18, the southbound right lane will be restricted from 9:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a southbound left lane restriction from noon to 3:00 p.m.
Inspectors will use a bridge inspection crane operating from the roadway to examine the structures.
No detour has been announced, but drivers should expect delays as traffic shifts around the inspection operation. Plan extra time for travel through the area and remain alert for changing traffic patterns during work hours.
All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unfavorable.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when approaching the work zone and follow all posted traffic controls to help ensure the safety of both inspection crews and fellow travelers.
