Route 222 Bridge Repairs Could Bring Four Days of Delays

WEST EARL TWP, PA — Drivers on northbound Route 222 should prepare for a prolonged lane restriction and possible delays beginning Friday night as bridge repairs continue over North Church Street near the Route 772 interchange.

The left lane of northbound Route 222 will remain closed continuously through the scheduled work period, weather permitting.

The work zone is near the on- and off-ramps for Route 772 serving Brownstown and Rothsville. Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays and remain alert for changing traffic conditions around the interchange.

PennDOT also warned that additional lane and possible ramp closures may be needed as crews complete remaining work on the broader project.

The repairs are part of a 3.3-mile pavement preservation project on Route 222 through Manheim, Warwick and West Earl townships. Work extends from the Bushong Road overhead bridge to the Pool Road overhead bridge and includes resurfacing, full-width milling, base repairs, concrete patching, guiderail upgrades, line painting and sign improvements.
