BUCKINGHAM TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled important geotechnical work on Cold Spring Creamery Road that will affect local traffic flow next week. Drivers are advised to plan for possible delays.

From Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, a section of Cold Spring Creamery Road, stretching from Burnt House Hill Road to Church School Road, will be narrowed to a single lane. Traffic will be managed with flagging operations to guide motorists through the area safely.

This temporary lane reduction is necessary to facilitate geotechnical borings, a critical process that involves drilling into the ground to collect soil samples. These samples are essential for assessing the subsurface conditions, which is a key step in planning for future road improvements or construction projects. Such evaluations help ensure the stability and safety of the roadway infrastructure.

Motorists traveling through Buckingham Township during these times are encouraged to allocate extra time for their journeys. The presence of work crews and equipment, combined with the lane reduction, is expected to lead to slower traffic movement and potential backups.

PennDOT has noted that the schedule for these activities is contingent upon favorable weather conditions. Rain or other adverse weather may lead to adjustments in the timing of the work.

Residents and commuters in the area are urged to stay informed about the latest traffic updates and plan their routes accordingly to minimize inconvenience. This geotechnical work represents a necessary step in maintaining and enhancing the region’s transportation network.
