TINICUM TWP, PA — Travelers in Tinicum Township, Bucks County, are set to encounter weekday road closures on Geigel Hill Road starting Monday, April 29, as part of a comprehensive $9.4 million effort by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to repair and resurface several state roadways in the area. The project, which will continue through late May, aims to enhance the driving experience on these vital thoroughfares.

The work on Geigel Hill Road, scheduled between Durham Road and Upper Tinicum Church Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays, involves milling and paving operations. Motorists will be rerouted via Upper Tinicum Church Road/Chestnut Ridge Road, Bridgeton Hill Road/Marienstein Road, southbound Route 611 (Easton Road), and Durham Road during these hours. PennDOT advises drivers to plan for extra travel time due to expected delays and backups near the construction zone. Completion of the work is contingent on suitable weather conditions.

This resurfacing initiative is part of a larger pavement improvement project that will see 25 miles of state highways in Bucks County milled and covered with a new layer of bituminous material. The objective is to seal the roads against the elements and provide a smoother ride for motorists traversing the region.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., based in Perkasie, Bucks County, has been named the general contractor for this significant infrastructure enhancement, which is fully funded by state resources.
