LOWER POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is set to commence a significant construction project on Monday, October 7, aimed at replacing the aging Pleasant View Road bridge over Sanatoga Creek. This initiative, valued at $2.4 million, seeks to ensure a safe and modern crossing for the community within Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.
The existing bridge, a 93-year-old structure measuring 50 feet long and 23 feet wide, will be replaced with a slightly larger and more robust design, extending 58.5 feet in length and 30 feet in width. The project will also involve comprehensive roadway improvements, including the reconstruction of approach roads, installation of new guiderails, and enhancements to drainage systems. Additionally, pavement markings and new signage will be set up to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
Starting October 7, motorists should anticipate weekday lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Pleasant View Road between Sanatoga Station Road and Linfield Road. These closures, necessary for erosion control and vegetation clearing, may lead to travel delays, and drivers are urged to plan extra time for their journeys.
H&K Group, Inc., based in Skippack, Pennsylvania, is overseeing this federally funded project. Motorists are encouraged to stay informed about live traffic conditions by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center, which provides real-time updates and alerts 24 hours a day to help minimize disruptions.
