Resurfacing Operations on Several State Highways in Montgomery County Announced by PennDOT

Lane closures

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans to carry out resurfacing operations on multiple state highways in Montgomery County. The operations are part of several ongoing projects aimed at improving the county’s road infrastructure.

Starting Monday, December 11, through Friday, December 15, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, motorists can expect travel restrictions at several locations. These include:

  • Lewis Road between Linfield Trappe Road and Vaughn Road in Upper Providence and Limerick Townships for inlet cleaning.
  • U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) between Airy Street and Logan Street in Norristown for utility adjustments.
  • Route 23 (Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Ford Street and Matsonford Road in Bridgeport, West Conshohocken boroughs, and Upper Merion Township for utility adjustments.
  • Matsonford Road between Rebel Hill Road and Front Street in Upper Merion, Lower Merion townships, and West Conshohocken Borough for utility adjustments and tar sealing.
  • Upper Ridge Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and the Bucks County line in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township for debris cleaning and tar sealing.
  • High Street between Pleasant View Road and Roland Street in Pottstown Borough and West Pottsgrove Township for debris cleaning and tar sealing.
  • High Street between Manatawny Street and the Berks County line in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work areas due to expected slowdowns. All activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.

These resurfacing and improvement projects involve PennDOT’s contractors repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement. These operations will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
