The work is part of a broader $56.1 million infrastructure project focused on repairing and preserving critical interstate bridges and ramps along the I-95 corridor in Philadelphia.

PennDOT said the project includes extensive repairs to bridge decks, structural steel, concrete beams, bridge railings, guiderails, and sign supports. Crews are also replacing expansion joints, repairing substructures, and upgrading roadway lighting with new LED fixtures.

Additional improvements under the federally funded contract include repainting 11 overhead steel sign structures and rehabilitating deteriorated bridge components to improve long-term safety and mobility along one of the region’s busiest transportation corridors.

Although the ramps have reopened, motorists should continue to expect periodic construction activity in the area as bridge and infrastructure repairs continue under the larger I-95 improvement effort.
