Qnity Expands CMP Portfolio as Chipmakers Face Rising Manufacturing Complexity

WILMINGTON, DE — Qnity Electronics Inc. (NYSE: Q) has expanded its chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) product portfolio with the launch of its Optivision Max polishing pads, targeting semiconductor manufacturers facing increasingly complex production requirements as chip architectures continue to shrink.

The new product line is designed for CMP processes, a critical step in semiconductor fabrication that helps create the ultra-flat surfaces required for advanced chip manufacturing. The company said the pads are intended to improve process control as manufacturers transition to more advanced semiconductor nodes and device designs.

Qnity said the Optivision Max family builds on its existing Optivision CMP pad platform and is engineered to improve defect control and extend pad life, two factors that can influence manufacturing yields and production efficiency.

“Advanced nodes and evolving device architectures are driving new levels of complexity across semiconductor manufacturing,” said Sanjay Kotha, vice president and general manager of CMP Technologies at Qnity. “Optivision Max pads reflect our continued focus on advancing CMP solutions to help customers meet the increasing performance and quality demands of next-generation technologies.”

The company said the pads are designed to support surface quality, process stability and reliability in advanced semiconductor manufacturing applications.

The first product in the new lineup, Optivision Max 8300, is available for customer sampling and commercial orders worldwide. Qnity said the platform can be configured for a variety of CMP applications, including versions with integrated windows for endpoint detection.

The launch expands Qnity’s offerings in a segment of the semiconductor supply chain that has gained importance as manufacturers seek tighter process tolerances for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and other advanced chip applications.
