WILMINGTON, DE — Qnity Electronics Inc. (NYSE: Q) announced it has acquired a semiconductor research and manufacturing facility in Taiwan for $61.5 million to expand production capacity and meet growing demand in the semiconductor industry.
The facility will support advanced chip manufacturing applications and include production areas, clean rooms, research laboratories, warehousing infrastructure and office space, the company said.
The site is located in the Hsinchu Science Park and expands Qnity’s existing operations in the region.
Company officials said the facility will support customer demand tied to technologies such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and advanced connectivity.
“Growth in advanced-node manufacturing continues to accelerate, and our customers are scaling rapidly to support next-generation technologies,” Chief Executive Officer Jon Kemp said.
Kemp said the investment is intended to increase production capacity and support global supply chains.
The semiconductor industry is expected to reach $1 trillion in annual revenue in the coming years, according to the company.
Qnity said the new facility will help strengthen supply availability and improve operational flexibility by expanding production near key customers.
The site is expected to begin operations in early 2027, with additional research and development capabilities planned in later phases.
Qnity develops technology and materials used in semiconductor manufacturing and electronic systems supporting applications such as artificial intelligence and advanced computing.
