WILMINGTON, DE — Qnity Electronics Inc. (NYSE: Q) launched an online Advanced Packaging Innovation Hub as the semiconductor industry shifts more of its performance gains from smaller chip designs to complex packaging architectures needed for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing systems.
The platform showcases Qnity’s materials and process technologies for advanced packaging, a market segment the company identifies as a strategic growth priority.
Advanced packaging has become increasingly important as chipmakers move beyond traditional Moore’s Law scaling and rely more heavily on 3D architectures, high-bandwidth memory, interposers, multi-die integration and high-density connections between chips.
“As AI reshapes computing, the hardest engineering problems are moving into the connections between chips, layer to layer — where performance, power, density, and reliability are decided,” Chuck Xu, president of Interconnect Solutions at Qnity, said in a statement.
Qnity said its technologies support manufacturing needs across the advanced packaging stack, including through-silicon vias, fine-line redistribution layers, metallization, hybrid bonding, assembly and IC substrates.
The company is positioning the platform around demand from artificial intelligence, cloud, networking, edge computing and high-performance computing systems, where packaging increasingly affects power efficiency, thermal management, reliability and system performance.
Qnity said its materials and process technologies are designed to help customers improve yield, reduce defects, control manufacturing processes and support long-term device reliability.
The launch underscores how suppliers across the semiconductor value chain are seeking larger roles in advanced packaging as chipmakers face rising pressure to improve performance without relying solely on transistor miniaturization.
