PHILADELPHIA, PA — Qlik was named a Leader in IDC’s 2026 assessment of data intelligence platform software, as enterprises face growing pressure to verify the quality, lineage and governance of data feeding analytics and artificial intelligence systems.
The designation appears in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Data Intelligence Platform Software 2026 Vendor Assessment, published in August.
Qlik’s positioning reflects its focus on measuring whether data is suitable for a particular use, tracing how information moves and changes across systems, and carrying governance controls into analytics and approved AI applications.
The company’s Qlik Talend Trust Score and Qlik Trust Score for AI use metadata-based signals including quality, freshness and usage to assess data fitness. Qlik also provides tools for correcting, standardizing, matching and deduplicating data before it reaches downstream applications.
“AI does not make unreliable data more reliable. It makes the consequences harder to contain,” Matt Hayes, general manager of Qlik’s Data Business Unit, said.
Qlik also offers more than 275 native metadata bridges designed to capture field-level lineage and transformation logic across databases, SQL, stored procedures, dbt, Spark, semantic layers and business intelligence tools.
That capability is intended to let companies determine how changes to underlying data could affect reports, data products or AI applications before those changes reach end users.
The company’s governance tools can attach ownership, quality, lineage and access controls to data products and carry those definitions into Qlik analytics applications and AI workflows.
“Data intelligence is moving from documenting data to helping organizations decide what can be used, by whom, and for what,” Stewart Bond, vice president of Data Intelligence and Integration Software at IDC, said.
Qlik supports cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments, allowing customers to apply governance across multiple technology stacks without consolidating all data with a single provider.
The company delivers the capabilities through Qlik Talend Cloud, Talend Data Catalog and Qlik Cloud Analytics.
