Qlik Gains AWS Data Competency for Database Integration

Qlik Technologies

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Qlik has secured Amazon Web Services’ Data Competency designation in the Relational Database category, strengthening the data analytics company’s position as a technology partner for enterprises migrating and integrating databases across AWS and other computing environments.

The designation recognizes Qlik’s technical capabilities and customer experience in delivering data solutions on AWS, particularly for organizations modernizing relational databases to support analytics and artificial intelligence applications.

The recognition places Qlik among AWS Partner Network members that have demonstrated technical proficiency and customer success in designated areas of cloud technology.

Qlik’s relational database capabilities support the movement of data from multiple database platforms into AWS environments, allowing companies to modernize their infrastructure while retaining existing technology investments.

Supported sources include Amazon Relational Database Service deployments using Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MariaDB, along with Amazon Aurora databases running MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Qlik also supports data integration involving SAP HANA, SAP Sybase ASE and IBM Db2, extending its reach to enterprise systems operating outside AWS.

The company’s technology enables businesses to transfer and prepare data for use in AWS-based analytics and AI applications without requiring all source systems to operate on a single database platform.

The approach addresses a common operational challenge for large organizations that maintain data across multiple cloud providers, on-premises infrastructure and business applications.

Qlik’s broader portfolio includes data integration, transformation, quality management, governance and analytics capabilities, including services delivered through Qlik Talend Cloud.

Those capabilities are intended to help businesses consolidate information from disparate systems and establish consistent data management practices before deploying analytics and AI workloads.

“Data strategies cannot be built around a single platform or a single destination,” said Matt Hayes, general manager of Qlik’s Data Business Unit.

“Our customers need the freedom to work across the technologies they already depend on while modernizing their data foundations for analytics and AI,” Hayes said.

The AWS designation also reflects Qlik’s emphasis on supporting data architectures that span competing technology platforms rather than requiring customers to consolidate their operations within a single ecosystem.

Sebastián Espinosa Jensen, business intelligence and corporate advanced analytics manager at Empresas SB, described that flexibility as a factor in the company’s technology strategy.

“Qlik gives us the flexibility to work across our data environment while modernizing for AWS,” Jensen said.

The designation recognizes Qlik’s existing capabilities within the AWS partner ecosystem. It does not represent a new product launch or a change in the company’s ownership or commercial relationship with AWS.
