PHILADELPHIA, PA — Proscia is expanding the reach of its digital pathology technology across Unilabs’ European diagnostic network, with multiple countries already using the Philadelphia company’s Concentriq AP-Dx platform for routine case review and additional deployments expected by year-end.
The rollout places Proscia’s technology across a pathology network spanning 12 countries, more than 350 experts and 400 laboratory technicians. Unilabs analyzes about 9 million pathology sections annually.
Concentriq brings Unilabs’ diagnostic data, laboratory sites, specialists and artificial intelligence applications into a common enterprise environment. The system is designed to make pathology expertise available across locations rather than confining case-review resources to individual laboratories.
That model also allows hospitals and healthcare institutions to access specialists across the broader Unilabs network.
The deployment extends Proscia’s role beyond digitizing routine pathology workflows. Unilabs is also using Concentriq as infrastructure for incorporating AI applications into pathology and supporting the expansion of precision medicine.
The platform provides Unilabs pathologists with access to AI applications through interoperability. The digital infrastructure could also support advanced testing approaches, including image-based companion diagnostics.
Badhri Srinivasan, group CEO of Unilabs, said Proscia’s technology is helping the company draw on expertise distributed throughout its network.
“Proscia is enabling us to amplify the collective expertise of our network to unlock new levels of care, shape the future of precision medicine, and make meaningful impacts to patients,” Srinivasan said.
Proscia CEO David West said the deployment reflects Unilabs’ broader transition toward digital pathology and precision medicine.
“With Proscia, it is establishing a blueprint for the future, which laboratories around the world will follow,” West said.
The companies did not disclose financial terms of the relationship or specify how many of Unilabs’ 12 countries have deployed Concentriq AP-Dx.
