PHILADELPHIA, PA — Evil Genius Beer Company is gearing up for an exciting Pride Month with a series of events and the return of their popular charity beer, #LoveisLove. Based out of Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, the brewery is honoring the LGBTQIA+ community with festivities that highlight inclusivity, local talent, and giving back.
At the center of the celebration is the #LoveisLove beer, a strawberry blonde ale crafted to benefit The Trevor Project, a national nonprofit supporting LGBTQIA+ youth. With each pint sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to this vital organization. Brewed with pale malts, wheat, Warrior Hops, and natural strawberry flavor, the 6.0% ABV beer will be available exclusively at Evil Genius’ Fishtown taproom.
The brewery will kick off its festivities on Saturday, June 7, with a Pride Block Party from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the 1700 block of North Front Street. Attendees can enjoy DJ-spun Pride anthems, browse goods from local LGBTQIA+ creators, and grab food from an on-site food truck. Family and pet-friendly, the free event invites the entire community to join in the celebration. Fresh pints of #LoveisLove will be served from an outdoor beer tent throughout the day.
The fun continues later that evening with a Pride Rave from 9 p.m. to midnight inside the brewery’s taproom. The event, open to guests 21 and older, will transform the space with Pride-themed decor, black lights, and a live DJ set. Specialty cocktails, themed shots, and the full beer menu will also be available.
Pride Month at Evil Genius wouldn’t be complete without its popular drag brunches, scheduled throughout June. Guests can enjoy performances paying tribute to pop culture icons such as Panic! at the Disco, the Spice Girls, and Beyoncé. Hosted on three consecutive Sundays (June 8, June 22, and June 29), each brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with shows starting at 12 p.m. Tickets are required for these events, which take place at the brewery’s Fishtown location at 1727 N. Front Street.
Evil Genius Beer Company, co-founded in 2011 by Trevor Hayward and Luke Bowen, has built a reputation not only for innovative beers but also for its commitment to community impact. Known for their slogan, “Very Silly Names for Very Serious Beers,” the brewery supports numerous causes through events like its annual Pride celebration and holiday fundraisers.
“At Evil Genius, we’ve always believed our responsibility goes beyond brewing great beer,” said Hayward. “Part of that is showing up for our community, just like they’ve shown up for us over the years.”
With its mix of family-friendly activities, nightlife events, and charitable efforts, Evil Genius is once again demonstrating its dedication to fostering unity and celebrating diversity in the City of Brotherly Love.
