Police Chase Leads to Arrest and Gun Recovery: Suspect Apprehended After Fleeing from Authorities

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man on gun charges.

Tyree Anderson has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Resisting Arrest, and additional related criminal offenses.

The criminal complaint alleges that on June 20, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 200 block of South Harrison Street, when they attempted to make contact with 21-year-old Tyree Anderson, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers took Anderson into custody without incident and recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $26,000 cash-only bail.
