Pinnaql Expands Drug Development Services With PRG Deal

Business News

ROYERSFORD, PA — Life sciences consulting firm Pinnaql has acquired Pharma Resource Group Inc., a move that broadens its capabilities in drug development and manufacturing support as pharmaceutical companies increasingly seek integrated partners to navigate complex regulatory and commercialization requirements.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds formulation development, technology transfer, scale-up, and analytical sciences expertise to Pinnaql’s existing platform, extending the company’s reach across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle from early-stage development through commercial manufacturing.

The deal represents the latest step in Pinnaql’s growth strategy as the company expands its presence in the life sciences consulting market through acquisitions and service integration.

For pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, and contract development and manufacturing organizations, the combined platform is intended to reduce reliance on multiple specialized vendors by consolidating development, manufacturing, validation, quality, and compliance services under one provider.

PRG brings nearly 20 years of experience serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in the United States and abroad.

John Duffin, chief executive officer of Pinnaql, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to support clients from formulation through commercial production.

“By connecting scientific development expertise with our engineering, quality, and compliance capabilities, we can now walk alongside clients from their earliest formulation decisions through inspection-ready commercial manufacturing,” Duffin said.

Pinnaql said the acquisition expands its technical capabilities in two key areas: technology transfer and manufacturing scale-up, as well as science-based manufacturing and laboratory support.

The transaction follows Pinnaql’s earlier integration of Validation & Engineering Group, or VEG, which added engineering and validation services to the company’s platform.

John P. Raech, co-founder and president of Pharma Resource Group, said existing client relationships and service offerings will remain in place while gaining access to broader engineering, validation, and quality-system capabilities.

The acquisition comes as pharmaceutical companies face increasing regulatory scrutiny, more complex manufacturing requirements, and growing pressure to accelerate development timelines while maintaining compliance standards.

By combining scientific, engineering, validation, and quality expertise, Pinnaql is positioning itself to compete as a full-service consulting partner for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract manufacturing clients navigating product development and commercialization programs.
