PHRA, DelVal Partner on 2026 Foal Cams Livestream

Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association is partnering with Delaware Valley University to host its annual Foal Cams livestream, offering the public a 24-hour online view of three pregnant Standardbred mares expected to give birth in March, the association announced.

The free livestream begins February 23 at pennhorseracing.com and will follow the mares through the birthing process as part of an educational initiative tied to Pennsylvania’s harness racing industry.

Ashley Eisenbeil, marketing director for the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association, said the program has become a popular outreach effort. “Foal Cams is one of our most popular initiatives, and we are thrilled to have Delaware Valley University as a partner again this year,” Eisenbeil said. She added that the program provides “a unique educational opportunity to experience the birthing process and learn more about the state’s equine industry.”

The 2026 Foal Cams will track three mares, each participating in the program for a third year and projected to foal in mid-March.

Thistle Dhu, a 15-year-old Standardbred trotter, is due March 10 and will deliver her 10th foal. She was bred to It’s Academic. Ocean Love Potion, also 15, is due March 11 after being bred to Devious Man. To The Good Life, a 16-year-old Standardbred trotter, is due March 19 and is expecting her eighth foal, sired by Six Pack.

Delaware Valley University’s Equine Science and Management students will assist in monitoring the mares at the school’s Equestrian and Breeding Center in Doylestown. The university said students follow the mares from pre-birth care through delivery and continue tracking the foals’ development until they appear at the Pennsylvania Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg in November.

The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association said the livestream is intended to provide public insight into the breeding process and the development of potential future harness racing competitors.
