PHILADELPHIA, PA — One night, one table, and one simple idea: go out to eat and help change lives.

Dining Out for Life, Philadelphia’s longest-running restaurant fundraiser, is returning for its 36th year—inviting the community to enjoy a meal at some of the region’s most popular restaurants while supporting critical services for people living with HIV.

On Thursday, April 23, more than 40 restaurants across the city and surrounding areas will donate a portion of their proceeds to Action Wellness, a nonprofit that provides housing, medical case management, and support services to more than 1,500 clients.

“Dining Out for Life is a 36-year Philadelphia tradition that brings together 40+ of our region’s top restaurants and chefs for one extraordinary night,” said Action Wellness Executive Director Mary Evelyn Torres. “Through the simple act of dining out, Philadelphians can help us deliver life-sustaining services—and have a great meal while doing it.”

A Night That Blends Food and Purpose

From neighborhood favorites to award-winning destinations, this year’s lineup reads like a tour of Philadelphia’s dining scene. Participating restaurants include Barclay Prime, Butcher and Singer, Talula’s Garden, The Love, Loco Pez, Frankford Hall, and many more—along with new additions like Borromini, Rittenhouse Grill, Rockwell & Rose, Scampi, and Val’s Lesbian Bar.

Each restaurant sets its own hours and offerings, giving diners flexibility to plan anything from a casual night out to a full celebration with friends and family.

A Tradition With Lasting Impact

Since its start in 1991, Dining Out for Life has raised more than $5 million locally, helping fund essential services for individuals and families affected by HIV.

The need remains significant. According to local health data, approximately 18,000 people in Philadelphia are currently living with HIV, with many relying on organizations like Action Wellness for support.

“HIV/AIDS services remain critical for thousands of people in our region,” Torres said. “What started as a simple idea—dine out, give back—has become one of Philadelphia’s most beloved fundraising traditions.”

More Ways to Get Involved

In addition to dining out, supporters can participate by organizing group tables, becoming community ambassadors, or making direct donations. Those unable to attend can still contribute online or through other giving options.
