Philadelphia Police Seek Suspect in Series of Alleged Robberies

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual believed to be responsible for a string of alleged commercial robberies.

The most recent incident occurred on January 10, 2024, at around 7:55 a.m. at Harry’s Hair and Nail Salon, located at 5529 N. 5th St. According to the complainant, as he was opening the store, an unknown male entered the premises, claimed to have a gun, and demanded money. The individual made a gesture implying he had a weapon, prompting the complainant to comply with his demands. The suspect then reportedly fled south on 5th St.

The police department has linked this incident to seven other robberies committed within a mile radius over the past month, suggesting a single individual may be behind these alleged crimes.

The suspect has been described as a medium-built black male, seen wearing a black bubble coat with a gray hoodie featuring white drawstring laces for the hood, and gray New Balance sneakers.

Authorities are urging anyone who sees the suspect to avoid approaching him and instead immediately contact 911. Those with any information about the crime or the suspect can confidentially submit a tip by calling 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting a tip to the same number.

As always, it is critical to remember that these are charges and do not establish guilt. The suspect, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
