Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Robbery Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is calling on the public to assist in identifying a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on January 16, 2024. The incident, which unfolded on the 1700 block of North 10th Street, has raised concerns about personal safety in the area.

At around 7:10 a.m., the complainant was walking when he was approached by the suspect, who was allegedly armed with a knife. An attempt was made to seize the complainant’s bags, leading to a struggle during which the complainant was reportedly stabbed in the arm and robbed of his wallet. The suspect is said to have used the victim’s credit card shortly after the robbery.

Video footage from nearby surveillance cameras reportedly shows the suspect inside a store. The individual is described as a black male with facial hair, donned in a blue coat and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Residents are urged not to approach the suspect if they encounter him, but instead to contact 911 immediately. Tips can be submitted by phone or text to 215.686.TIPS (8477), and all information will be kept confidential.
