Philadelphia Police Seek Information on Suspect in Chestnut Street Lobby Theft

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect caught on video allegedly stealing a bookbag from a building lobby.

The incident occurred on December 4, 2023, around 2:22 a.m., at a building located at 2116 Chestnut Street. According to police, the individual gained access to the building’s lobby and allegedly stole a bookbag from the front desk before fleeing in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as wearing a blue beret, dark jacket, dark pants, and blue and white slippers at the time of the alleged theft.

Authorities are urging the public not to approach the person if they see him but to immediately contact 911. Tips can be submitted by calling or texting 215.686.TIPS (8477). All tips will be kept confidential.
