Philadelphia Detectives Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Alleged Package Thief

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Northwest Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual suspected of package theft. The alleged crime occurred on January 28, 2024, marking yet another incident in a growing trend of doorstep deliveries being targeted by thieves.

At approximately 5:17 p.m., in the rear alley of the 4500 block of Riverside Way, an unknown male is alleged to have stolen a package from a resident’s doorstep. After reportedly committing the theft, the suspect left the area in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male of medium build, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s. He was seen wearing a dark hooded jacket and gray pants at the time of the alleged incident.

As investigations continue into this incident, the Northwest Detective Division is urging anyone with information that might lead to the identification of this individual to come forward. However, residents are advised not to approach the suspect if they see him, but to contact 911 immediately.
