MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that inlet cleaning operations are set to commence next week on Lewis Road in Upper Providence and Limerick townships. This work is part of a larger initiative to repair and resurface 50 miles of state highways in Montgomery County.
From Monday, December 18, through Friday, December 22, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Lewis Road between Linfield Trappe Road and Vaughn Road. Motorists are advised to factor in additional travel time due to potential slowdowns in the work zone. All scheduled operations are contingent on favorable weather conditions.
This undertaking is part of a broader pavement improvement project where PennDOT will repair, mill, and resurface 22 state highways in Montgomery County using bituminous material. The new pavements will seal the roadways, providing motorists with a smoother riding surface and enhancing overall road safety.
Highway Materials, Inc., a Flourtown-based company, is the general contractor for this $13.7 million project. The project is financed entirely with state funds.
