PennDOT Announces Road Closures for Pipe Replacement and Base Repair in Bucks and Delaware Counties

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled pipe replacement and base repair work on several state highways in Bucks and Delaware counties. Motorists should prepare for traffic backups and delays during these operations.

Starting Tuesday, August 6, and continuing through Wednesday, August 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Eagle Road/Stoneybrook Road will be closed between Route 32 (River Road) and Pineville Road in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County, for pipe replacement. During this closure, motorists are advised to use Route 32 (River Road), Route 232 (Windy Bush Road), and Pineville Road as detour routes.

Additionally, from Monday, August 5, through Thursday, August 8, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Beaver Valley Road will be closed between U.S. 202 (Wilmington West Chester Pike) and Beaver Dam Road/Beaver Valley Road in Concord and Chadds Ford townships, Delaware County, for base repair. Drivers should follow detour routes via Beaver Dam Road, Brandywine Creek Road, Smithbridge Road, and U.S. 202 (Wilmington West Chester Pike).

From Wednesday, August 7, through Wednesday, August 14, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays, Glen Mills Road/Westown Road will be closed between Cheyney Road and Dilworthtown Road in Thornbury Township, Delaware County, for base repair. Motorists should use Cheyney Road, Creek Road, and Dilworthtown Road as detours.

Local access will be maintained throughout these closures. PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas due to the expected traffic congestion and delays. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
