Penn Mutual Extends Workplace Certification Streak to Five Years

Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. earned Great Place To Work certification for a fifth consecutive year after 94% of surveyed employees described the insurer as a strong workplace, placing its result 37 percentage points above the average U.S. company.

The certification is based on employee responses to Great Place To Work’s Trust Index survey, which measures workplace culture and employee experience.

Penn Mutual reported favorable responses around flexibility, trust, collaboration, relationships with managers and access to company leaders. Employees also cited opportunities to use artificial intelligence and company-provided resources supporting its adoption.

“Earning Great Place To Work Certification for the fifth consecutive year is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the voices and experiences of our employees,” Penn Mutual Chief Administrative Officer Liz Heitner stated.

Heitner attributed the result to collaboration among employees, willingness to adopt new working methods and attention to the financial professionals and policyholders served by the company.

Great Place To Work Vice President of Global Recognition Sarah Lewis-Kulin described the certification as an assessment based on direct employee feedback rather than an employer application alone.

The organization’s broader research found that workers at certified companies were more likely to anticipate coming to work and to report fair pay, equitable profit participation and access to promotions. Job seekers were also 4.5 times more likely to find a strong manager at a certified workplace, according to Great Place To Work.
