Pedestrian Fatality in Early Morning Collision Prompts Investigation by Wilmington Police

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred early Sunday morning, November 27. Officers were dispatched to the scene on the 100 block of North Monroe Street at approximately 5:49 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian, a 38-year-old male, who had succumbed to his injuries. The authorities have chosen not to disclose any additional information about the victim at this time, respecting the privacy of the deceased and their family.

The Wilmington Police Department’s Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. As part of their investigation, they will be reviewing any available surveillance footage, interviewing potential witnesses, and examining the scene for any evidence.
