PECO Utility Improvement to Close Route 309 in Cheltenham Township

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that PECO Energy will be performing conduit installation on Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County.

The work schedule and location are:

  • Monday, September 11, through Thursday, November 30, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) will be closed weeknights at the intersection with Route 611 (Old York Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 611 (Old York Road), Church Road, and Washington Lane.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
