PECO Energy Announces Utility Construction on Highways in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties

Traffic Alert

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — PECO Energy is set to carry out utility construction work on three state highways across Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. These projects are aimed at improving the efficiency of energy delivery and service reliability in these regions.

In Bucks County, a weekday lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 263 (Upper York Road) between River Road and Circle View Drive in Solebury Township. The construction will take place from Monday, December 11, through Friday, January 5, 2024, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

In Montgomery County, motorists should be prepared for a weekday lane closure on Route 29 (Collegeville Road/2nd Avenue) between Hopwood Road and Park Avenue in Upper Providence Township and Collegeville Borough. The closure will occur from Monday, December 11, through Friday, December 29, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

In Philadelphia, Germantown Avenue will experience a weekday lane closure between Route 611 (Broad Street) and Erie Avenue. This restriction will be effective from Monday, December 11, through Friday, January 19, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near these work areas due to expected backups and delays. All scheduled activities are subject to change based on weather conditions.

These projects are being undertaken by PECO Energy under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. This infrastructure upgrade forms part of PECO’s ongoing commitment to enhance electric service reliability and system resiliency throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
