Traffic Alert

CHESTER, PA — Drivers heading from the Commodore Barry Bridge onto Interstate 95 North should expect late-night disruptions for the rest of December as PennDOT undertakes concrete repair work on a critical connector in Delaware County.

PennDOT said weeknight lane closures will be in effect from Wednesday, December 17, through Wednesday, December 31, on the ramp from U.S. 322 West to northbound I-95 in the City of Chester and Chester Township. The closures will run nightly from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM, weather permitting.

The overnight work is aimed at repairing deteriorated concrete on the ramp, a heavily traveled link for commuters and freight traffic moving between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. PennDOT cautioned that even during off-peak hours, backups and delays are likely, and drivers should plan accordingly.

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time, remain alert in the work zone, and watch for changing traffic patterns as crews complete the repairs.

Before heading out overnight, drivers can check real-time traffic conditions, lane closures, and alternate routes by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
