Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled on I-76 for Repairs

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced lane and ramp closures on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) for paving and bridge repair as part of a $41.3 million resurfacing and improvement project in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township.

From Monday, October 13, through Thursday, October 16, westbound lanes will close nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM between Arch Street and I-676. A weekend lane closure will follow from 8:00 PM Friday, October 17, to 5:00 AM Monday, October 20, between the U.S. 1 North and Lincoln Drive/Kelly Drive interchanges.

Additionally, from 7:00 AM Monday, October 20, to 5:00 PM Friday, October 24, the ramp from westbound I-76 to U.S. 1 (City Avenue) will close for concrete repair and paving, with a posted detour in place.

PennDOT advises motorists to expect significant delays and allow extra time when traveling through the area. All work is weather dependent.
