PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers heading south on Interstate 95 should prepare for overnight disruptions next week as PennDOT closes the ramp to Aramingo Avenue at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange on Thursday night, March 26.
At a Glance:
- Roads Affected: I-95 South (Exit 26 to Aramingo Avenue)
- Dates: Thursday, March 26 (overnight into Friday, March 27)
- Times: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Reason: Highway construction
PennDOT said the ramp from I-95 South to Aramingo Avenue will be fully closed during overnight hours. Drivers will need to follow a posted detour to reach the interchange.
Motorists will be directed to continue south on I-95 to the Girard Avenue Interchange (Exit 23), turn left onto Aramingo Avenue, then left onto Delaware Avenue (Richmond Street), and use the I-95 North on-ramp at Schirra Drive to return to the Aramingo Avenue/Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.
Drivers should expect delays on both southbound and northbound I-95 as traffic is rerouted. Plan extra time, especially during overnight travel, and consider alternate routes if possible.
All work is weather dependent and part of a $355.3 million project to reconstruct sections of I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
