PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overnight roadway and barrier repairs will take place throughout November on southbound I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia. The work is part of PennDOT’s ongoing maintenance program to improve safety and extend the life of one of the region’s busiest travel corridors.
Beginning tonight, November 2, and continuing through Sunday, November 30, lane closures will be in effect nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM between the Academy Road and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges. Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time when passing through the work zone. All construction activities are weather dependent.
The nighttime work will include pavement repairs and barrier maintenance designed to improve traffic safety and reduce long-term structural wear along this heavily traveled stretch of interstate.
