NEW HOPE, PA — Orchestra BioMed Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: OBIO) will present its biomedical development strategy to investors at the Wells Fargo 21st Annual Healthcare Conference on Sept. 10 as the company advances pivotal trials for its two lead cardiovascular technologies.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Hochman is scheduled to present at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time and will hold one-on-one investor meetings Sept. 9 and Sept. 10, the company reported.
The appearance comes as Orchestra BioMed advances pivotal clinical programs for Atrioventricular Interval Modulation Therapy, or AVIM Therapy, and the Virtue Sirolimus AngioInfusion Balloon, known as Virtue SAB.
AVIM Therapy is being developed as a bioelectronic treatment for hypertension delivered through a pacemaker. Orchestra BioMed is developing and commercializing the technology for patients with uncontrolled hypertension who have an indication for a pacemaker through a strategic collaboration with Medtronic.
The therapy has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration Breakthrough Device Designations for its targeted patient population. Orchestra BioMed estimates about 7.7 million people in the U.S. have uncontrolled hypertension despite medical therapy and elevated cardiovascular risk.
The company’s second lead program, Virtue SAB, is an angioplasty balloon system designed to deliver an extended-release formulation of sirolimus to treat atherosclerotic artery disease.
Virtue SAB has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designations for coronary in-stent restenosis, coronary small vessel disease and below-the-knee peripheral artery disease.
Both product candidates are undergoing pivotal clinical trials for their lead indications.
