PHILADELPHIA, PA — Southbound Tacony Street has been reduced to one lane between Bridge Street and Van Kirk Street through late 2027, creating a long-term traffic restriction for drivers in Northeast Philadelphia.

The restriction allows crews to demolish and reconstruct I-95 structures alongside Tacony Street and build a retaining wall supporting the widening of northbound I-95.
The work is part of PennDOT’s I-95/BS2 project, which will reconstruct the interstate in both directions between Margaret Street and Carver Street.
