STEVENS, PA — The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department (NLCRPD) is on the hunt for new talent. The department is currently inviting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Police Officer. With a deadline of March 1, 2024, for the next round of candidates, the department is keen to add to its ranks.
While having completed ACT120 is preferred, it’s not a requirement. Promising candidates will be sent by the NLCRPD to the police academy for certification. Applicants need to be at least 21 years old by their employment date. The NLCRPD has recently finalized a four-year collective bargaining contract for 2024-2027 with the NLCRPD Police Officer’s Association and Commission. The contract boasts a host of benefits that make the position attractive.
The annual starting salary for the position in 2024 will be $66,646.05, which will rise to $113,147.26 after six years of service by 2027. Other financial incentives include overtime opportunities, court compensation, educational bonuses, bonus pay for working holidays, and an annual longevity bonus.
Work-life balance is also given due consideration with a 12-hour schedule, relief time, paid vacation, and sick leave. The department also provides college tuition reimbursement and offers a retirement investment opportunity through a 457 program.
Comprehensive insurance coverage, including medical, dental, and life insurance, will be provided. A pension scheme is also in place, available after 25 years of service and reaching a minimum age of 55.
All uniforms and equipment will be provided by the department, along with an annual equipment reimbursement/allowance. The department also offers ample opportunities for training and advancement.
