PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced nighttime lane closures on two major highways in Center City Philadelphia. The closures are part of geotechnical drilling work scheduled to take place on sections of I-95 and I-676.
The temporary travel restrictions are planned as follows:
- Southbound I-95: Lane closures will be in effect between the Aramingo Avenue Interchange and Market Street from Monday, June 2, through Thursday, June 5, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night.
- Eastbound I-67: A single lane will close between 5th Street and I-95 during the same timeframe, from Monday, June 2, through Thursday, June 5, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM nightly.
Drivers are urged to allow additional time when traveling through these areas to account for potential delays caused by backups. PennDOT emphasizes that all scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change if conditions require.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, remain attentive, and slow down when navigating work zones to ensure the safety of both crews and fellow travelers.
