PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced nighttime lane and ramp closures next week on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia for bridge repair and barrier installation.
From Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, lane closures will occur nightly from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM in both directions between the Allegheny Avenue and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges. On Tuesday, October 14, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramps from Aramingo Avenue and the Betsy Ross Bridge to northbound I-95 will close for bridge beam setting, with detours posted via nearby exits.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $355.3 million I-95/BR3 project to widen and reconstruct the interstate between Wheatsheaf Lane and north of Margaret Street.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. All work is weather dependent.
