According to PennDOT, Tacony Street will be closed between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street from Monday, June 29, through Friday, July 17, during overnight hours.
During the closure, northbound motorists will be directed to use Aramingo Avenue/Harbison Avenue and then turn right onto Bridge Street to reconnect with Tacony Street.
Southbound drivers will be directed to turn right onto Bridge Street and then left onto Aramingo Avenue/Harbison Avenue to access Tacony Street.
Local access will be maintained, but motorists should expect delays and increased traffic along the detour routes. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible, particularly during late evening and early morning hours.
The work is part of PennDOT’s ongoing I-95/BS2 project, which will reconstruct Interstate 95 in both directions between Margaret Street and Carver Street.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.
Drivers traveling through the area should remain alert for detour signage, changing traffic patterns, and construction crews working near the roadway.
