PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers using three major Philadelphia interstates should plan extra time next week as overnight crack sealing brings lane closures to portions of I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), I-95 and I-676. The restrictions begin Monday, August 10, with work continuing on some routes through Friday, August 21.

On I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), a lane closure is scheduled between Grays Ferry Avenue and Snyder Avenue from Monday, August 10, through Saturday, August 15. The restriction will be in place nightly from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning.
I-95 drivers will encounter a lane closure between the Academy Road Interchange and the Bucks County line during the same Monday-through-Saturday period. Work on I-95 is scheduled from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning.
On I-676, a lane closure is planned between I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and 21st Street from Thursday, August 13, through Friday, August 21. The restriction will run from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning.
Drivers should expect delays and possible backups when approaching the work zones. Plan extra time, particularly when traveling through Philadelphia during the overnight construction hours, and seek alternate routes when practical.
PennDOT advises that all scheduled work is weather dependent and could be postponed or rescheduled.
