FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Newrez LLC has announced the appointment of Mark McArdle as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Relations, Public Policy & Stakeholder Engagement, a new leadership role designed to bolster the lender’s influence and innovation in the mortgage industry.
Bringing over two decades of expertise in housing and mortgage lending, McArdle most recently served as the Assistant Director of Mortgage Markets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from 2017 to 2025. During his tenure, he led critical initiatives, including modernizing HMDA reporting, updating the Ability to Repay/Qualified Mortgage rules, and managing the CFPB’s mortgage response to COVID-19. His extensive background also includes building collaborative relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, and consumer advocates.
At Newrez, McArdle will focus on shaping mortgage policy and fostering relationships with government agencies, trade groups, consumer organizations, and other stakeholders. These efforts align with the company’s strategic objective of responsible market participation and homeowner-focused growth.
