BRISTOL TWP, PA — Drivers in lower Bucks County should prepare for a weeklong detour as bridge repair work forces the closure of a section of Newportville Road in Bristol Township.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will close Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road beginning at 6:00 AM Monday, June 8, and continuing through 3:00 PM Friday, June 12, to perform bridge repairs.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road to travel around the work zone.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect heavier traffic along the detour route and possible delays during peak travel periods. Plan extra time and consider alternate routes if possible.
The bridge repair work is being completed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
